Introduction: A Heavenly Connection

Welcome to another enlightening episode of “Won’t God Do It” with Dr. Anita Turner. In this episode, we are honored to host the remarkable Isabel Glionna, a young professional making waves in the sports management field while deeply rooted in her Christian faith. Join us as we explore Isabel’s journey of faith, success, and the importance of community.

Isabel's Journey to Faith

Isabel grew up in a loving household where her parents emphasized the importance of faith and community. Early on, she became involved in church activities, attending youth ministries and sleepaway camps that nurtured her childlike faith. However, like many, Isabel experienced a disconnect in high school, but God brought her back into the fold during college—ultimately leading to her baptism at Faithful Central Bible Church. In Isabel's words, "God is the only person that brought me through... His grace is so amazing."

The Power of Community

Isabel highlighted the significance of small groups within her church, where she cultivates relationships with like-minded peers. These groups provide accountability and fellowship, allowing young people to explore their faith while supporting one another. With humor and warmth, Isabel shares the lighthearted moment that led to their group’s affectionate name, “brethren and sister-in of Christ.” It’s clear that this sense of community has played a vital role in her spiritual journey.

Success in Sports Management

Graduating from California State University, Isabel is now a liaison at Pasadena City College's athletic department. Her career path wasn’t always straightforward, but through hard work and a passion for sports, she encourages others, “Every room that you’re standing in is a room that you’re supposed to be in.” By sharing insights from her experiences, Isabel offers valuable tips for young individuals navigating their careers: be a constant learner, adaptable, and take time to reflect.

Words of Encouragement

Isabel’s advice resonates: “Listen to God first and foremost.” Her journey emphasizes the significance of faith in confronting life's challenges and opportunities. Embracing setbacks as redirection, Isabel encourages listeners to remain patient, reminding us that every rejection paves the way for a new possibility crafted by divine design.
